thinking: i think this case is quite related to our topic ecology, photochemical smoke in chemistry and also related to the global issue where deforestation and construction causes devastating effect to the nature.
ReplyDeletefeeling: this case is a moderate and quite simple as some topics related to this case are a part of our lessons and general knowledge.
i just dont understand why is the authorities is so stupid that they want to destroy the green and harmony of the nature with cocrete theme park which will cause many disadvantages..thank you madam..
thinking:i think case 3 is quite related to our lives as environmental topic is quite popular nowadays...so,we can realise about the importance of the greens and how it could affect our environment...
ReplyDeletefeeling:although earning extra income is important,however,conserving our nvironment is more important as our Mother Earth is getting sick nowadays because of the human acts...

thinking: i think that this case 3 is quite more related to our learning issue in some chapter.the environment is our responsibility, so we must make sure that we can minimize the pollution..

i like this case more. this time i had to push my brain more to think on environment, which is quite easy as it's actually part of my life and my learning.

after having chances to be a baker and a zoo owner, now here i am as an environmentalist.heheh.so happy!

B: wondering~how can we stop a development when it is inevitable in today's world?even if we stop it here, it will still be done somewhere else which it turns damaging our mother nature, still..
thinking: I think that the authorities should conserve and preserve the environment for our next generation. The theme park project should be stopped immediately and they may replace it by an environment-friendly project.
ReplyDeletefeeling: Nowadays, our world is fulled with concrete buildings and consequently cause the rise of several environmental problems. As a citizen of the Earch Village, everyone plays an important role in preventing the extinction of flora and fauna and saving our environment.
B. Will the authorities consider our recommendations? Will them decide to stop the theme park project and replace it with an environment-friendly project as well?

ReplyDeletethinking:Green is good bla bla bla... the usual answers, but actually to be frank, agreeing to the theme park may be more profitable in many ways. we can use the money to fund the NGO that helps the environment. By going public wif this, more tourist will come since they can hav fun WHILE doing a good deed. So its a win-win situation, is not like cutting down a small area trees will do all those nasty disaster rite? We hav to think a bigger picture!!! (>_<)

ReplyDeleteThinking:environmental awareness..a never ending issues..taught from primary school till now ,from subjects like geography , moral studies to biology,is the same old stories again...global warming , greenhouse effect blah blah blah...we all know..but the environment is not getting better ...wat's wrong?
Feeling : one of the best things about being human is our ability to control our environment. Whereas other creatures are at the mercy of natural forces, we can get around most of them. Too hot? Turn on the AC. Too cold? Crank up the heater. Find that mountain inconvenient to travel over? Tunnel through it..lets not be too happy,we all know ,at the end of the day,the impact will come back to us..well is the 'circle of life'...so ,think twice..
B- i wonder how many trees are there in the theme park?why do they actually hav to cut down all the trees juz to make a new park?Does that mean tat all the trees in the park previously juz concentrate at one specific area?
thinking:i think government should play a role in preserving our nature.

ReplyDeleteThis case got me thinking about nothing but "green". Eventhough I do not think building a theme park is such a bad idea, I simply focussed on only the negative effects building one would bring and how I can relate them to the environment. I figured it's what this case wants us to put our thoughts on - saving the greens.
Feeling:
It's a wonder how 'biology' and 'entertainment' can correlate so much. Gave me a certain level of 'awareness' I have to say.
B:

Thinking : 'Save the greens'.. i already familiar with this campaign.. we should protect our trees in order for us to live in a better environment..this kind of assignment refreshes my memory on the importance of trees...however, it is not a bad idea if we can build a theme park and at the same time protect our nature. :)... theme park is the best place for someone who like entertainment like me... :P

Thinking: em...environmental issues again and again. Well, I think that the construction of theme park can be carried on provided the trees in the park is preserved and no cutting down of trees. The theme park is important as a tourist attraction and it generates income for the the town.
ReplyDeleteFeeling: Finally, the assignment is finished. However, it is kind of boring as it somehow relates to the same scientific concept such as ecology.

ReplyDelete:: I guess this is a very common topic to discuss. We know that we are living in the world of modernization that we have to make lots of changes to the environment. We are developing, but at the same time we are being more n more cruel towards the environment. I don't understand the reason why should we have a theme park, which can just be a site of entertainment, when our nature is being destroyed for that?? If only the trees are able to speak to human, I am very sure that they will scream and say 'STOP KILLING US!!!!'

:: I feel so unhappy because they r ppl who agree wif the proposal. I wonder y they prefer entertainment rather than the greens??Yeah myb its too serious if we say that the building of the theme park will lead to global warming n melting of the ice n etc..but still, it can CONTRIBUTE to all the phenomena...Imagine if all towns decided to do the same thing as what Sunshine Town does???We should see things in a larger scale n do not take things too easy. To prevent is better than too cure~ :(

Thinking : I think, instead of using the area of the existing park, why not the authorities find another place. So,they have various type of park at this Sunshine Town.

for the case 3, there were not much problems we have because the case was quite the same with the previous case just that it something to do with natures instead of only animals. so we think that the park is already there, and the authorities want to build concrete theme park to gain more income to the town. but if that happens, there will be problems regarding to the environment and to the peoples in the town themselves. so we were thinking to stop the theme park project from be done, but modified it into botanical park so that it still can attract tourists to the town.
feeling
this case actually quite simple, but we still need to be focus on the problems that will encountered if the concrete theme park is built.

solved
in my opninion, these contruction of park atcually doesnt give big effect to global warming. maybe just a few pollution to that area. i am totally disagree about the global warming thing, but because my group also include the global warming as our point, i reluctantly agree =.= ..but i understand that madam try to open the box of thinking from us, try to be an open minded person. if all person thinks the concrete park doesnt contribute to global warming, this case might be gloomy and stereotypic case.huhu

ReplyDeleteA:Thinking: the case 3 is very interesting case because it is closer to nature. i think that, the concrete theme park is not very wise decision as to attract the tourists. instead build the concrete theme park, we can build the eco-park and maybe botanical garden.
Feeling: i feel very sad because nowdays.there are a lot of serious case regarding to the deforestation like global warming but there are still some people who are greedy to find the profit or income to the city and put aside the effect of deforestation.

ReplyDeletethinking : i actually think the idea of building the theme park is great. accept that of course, how it will affect our ecosystem should be taken into ccount. so, that's when the building of an eco-friendly theme park is better idea than just a theme park :D
